    Coverage length

Coverage under Cinch Home Services begins on the effective date outlined in your contract and is good for 12 months. Renewing your home warranty plan is at the discretion of Cinch Home Warranty, who is required to notify you of intention to renew 30 days prior to contract expiration. Before renewal, Cinch will notify you of any coverage or price changes.

    Coverage limits

In the sample contract on Cinch Home Warranty’s website, the provider explains that coverage doesn’t include routine maintenance, repairs or replacements covered by other insurance or manufacturer’s warranties, and damages incurred from causes other than normal wear and tear.

If a system or appliance has a pre-existing condition that couldn’t have been detected by a routine visual inspection or mechanical test, Cinch will cover it.

For covered items under your Cinch Home Warranty, the maximum amount of money this provider will cover is $10,000.00. Note: each appliance and system covered under your plan has its own coverage cap, usually between $1,000.00–$2,000.00.

Details for top systems and appliances

To find out the home warranty coverage that customers valued the most, our team at House Method surveyed 1,000 homeowners and asked them which home appliances and systems were most important to them.

The results showed that important home appliances consist of the refrigerator, oven/stove/range, and washer/dryer. The most important systems are the plumbing, electrical, and air conditioning.

    Refrigerator

Cinch Home Warranty will cover up to two refrigerator units per contract. Cinch covers all components and parts, except mult-media centers built into the appliance.

    Oven/range/stovetop

The oven/range/stovetop is covered under the Appliances Plan and Complete Home Plan. Cinch will cover the components and parts on up to two units.

    Clothes washer and dryer

The components and parts of two washers and two dryers are covered under your Cinch Home Warranty. Keep in mind that cosmetic damages and damages caused by improper maintenance are not covered.

    Electrical

All components and parts including Direct Current wiring, lighting fixtures, and built-in exhaust, vent, and attic fans are included in electrical coverage. Wiring or cable for audio, video, computer, intercom, alarm, and security is not covered.

    Plumbing

Cinch Home Services has a long list of components and parts covered under plumbing protection. Some items covered under this protection include leaks and breaks in water lines, shower arms and valves, hose bibs, faucets, and shower heads. Stoppages caused by a damaged drain or a factor outside of the home’s foundation aren’t covered.

    Our take

Cinch Home Services offers three plans that provide comprehensive and affordable coverage to customers. Cinch also allows its customers to select their own service fee, giving them control over their monthly premium.

When an item breaks down, you want a company that’s going to be available at all times to help you navigate the repair process. Cinch understands this, offering customer service 24 hours a day, along with emergency services to dispatch service technicians to your home for more immediate needs. This is a nice perk that’s only offered by a few other companies, such as Blue Ribbon Home Warranty.

Cinch Home Services’ most comprehensive plan covers 28 items and gives customers the option of purchasing additional coverage for items like a well pump, pool, or spa. Cinch also allows policyholders to gain access to coverage for non-covered charges on items through their Premier Upgrade Package.

Have had four different services covered and all were handled quickly, effortlessly, and courteously. I am really happy I opted to get home protection when I did.”— Barbara F. on 1/20/2020
